What Does Your House Number Say About You?
When we are drawn to a new home, it’s not just the layout or the location that matters – the energy of the house number also plays a powerful role. In Feng Shui, every number vibrates with a particular frequency that can influence your luck, relationships, finances and overall sense of harmony.
As a psychic medium and feng shui consultant I often guide my clients through these subtle energies – because the right number can nurture your soul, while the wrong one may feel like you’re always swimming upstream.
Let’s uncover the secret meanings behind house numbers and what you can do to enhance the energy of your home.
How to Calculate Your House Number
To begin, reduce your full house number to a single digit. For example:
House number 124
1 + 2 + 4 = 7
( If your house number is a unit/apt, like 5/18, you only use the main number, which is 18.
1 + 8 = 9
If your house includes a letter – such as 18B – you’ll also need to include the numerical value of the letter. Here’s how:
Each letter corresponds to a number from 1 – 9 here is the chart:
A = 1 B = 2 C = 3 D = 4 E = 5 F = 6 G = 7 H = 8 I = 9
J = 1 K = 2 L = 3 M = 4 N = 5 O = 6 P = 7 Q = 8 R = 9
S = 1 T = 2 U = 3 V = 4 W = 5 X = 6 Y = 7 Z = 8
House number 18B = 1 = 8 = 2 (B) = 11 —- 1 + 1 = 2
So 18B would be considered a Number 2 house

A special note about house number 4 and those with the number 4 in it
In traditional Chinese Feng Shui, the number 4 is considered inauspicious and very unlucky, due to is phonetic similarity to the word of ‘death’ . This becomes more intense with house number 44, often called the “double death” number. While this may sound ominous, don’t worry – feng shui offers beautiful ways to shift and protect this energy.
If you already live in a house numbered 44, you can energetically protect and soften the vibration by placing a circle around the number – physically or symbolically. You can get a plaque made that contains the number inside the circle. Visualize a golden protective circle during meditation.
Additional remedies include using crystals, wind chimes, protective symbols like the bagua mirror or even placing two Fu Dogs or guardian lions near your entry. These enhancements help cleanse, shield and raise the vibration of your home.
